“I want to join your class but first I have to get in shape.”
I’ve actually heard this from several people around Troy and am surprised every time I hear it. Having a space for EVERYONE in the Winchester Spine and Sport gym is our ultimate goal, no matter where you are in your journey. The classes we offer at Winchester Spine and Sport are appropriate for everyone! If you stop into the gym at any point during the week you will see a wide variety of people at different stages in their healing journey. Whether that is our early morning classes with weekend warriors, our mid-morning “Special Populations” class, or private classes with local softball teams, our classes are safe and always aimed at meeting you exactly where you are! The functional classes we offer are based on each individual’s starting place, so as you improve form and a better understanding of how your body moves, your workout experience becomes more challenging. We follow this model because we do not want you to be sore or so drained that you cannot continue with your day. The majority of our participants even report more energy and a better mental day following a workout with one of our trainers.
Community
One of the most underrated parts of our classes is the camaraderie with the Winchester Spine and Sport community! Our participants are supportive of one another and build great bonds while working out. Not only does this create amazing accountability, but it also helps us form lasting relationships and social outreach during our day. These relationships are built on vulnerability. Said another way, we all have insecurities about the gym and a certain amount of fear about what will happen during that hour in the gym. Our trainers and I are very aware of this and do everything we can to help ease this.
